The Rollercoaster

I recently read an email from someone who has been through a similar situation to what we are working through. His advice was to not try to ride the rollercoaster of ups and downs that occur from day to day. If there is something I have been learning so far, it is how to cope with situations and outcomes that you have absolutely no control over. Not a fun place to be, but where we find ourselves. I was reading in my daily Bible yesterday, and the day’s section was Psalm 33. Verses 20-22 really spoke to me as Sarah and I wait for what each day brings…

We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our hope and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice; For we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love rest upon us, o Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Over the past couple of days, Elora has continued to have some victories worth mentioning. The biggest one is that they ended up doing a brain scan on Elora’s head again today. The nurse told us about it and of course there was some anxiety about what they would find. The good news is that things look basically like they did the other day. We are still praying for full healing, but are so thankful that the blood doesn’t seemed to have increased or caused any additional pressure in her head. Can I get an “Amen!”? Beyond that, Elora is still stable.

The next big thing we are waiting on is for Elora’s digestion system to kick into gear. She has a lot of air building up in her little tummy and we need for that to make its way out soon. I never thought I would be praying for my child to have a good bowel movement, but guess there is a first for everything! :)
