Last night I was able to hold Elora for the first time out of her isolette (incubator)! I was able to hold her for about 1 1/2 hours. It was indescribable! It was so nice to see her up close and hold her tight. She just snuggled up and seemed so content. I could not have been any happier! The kangaroo care (holding her skin to skin) is something they encourage and Peter and I will do on a regular basis going forward. Kangaroo care helps stabilize the heart rate, improves breathing patterns, decreases crying, and helps aid in weight gain & an earlier hospital discharge.
Thank you Jesus for allowing me to hold my little one. You are the giver of all good gifts and we praise you for how loving and merciful you are to us. We love you!
And seriously...how can you not love the pink pom-pom hat??!!
I was hoping to see some good news today! I would say I can't imagine how good it felt to hold your sweet girl - but I can see the pure joy on your face in the pictures. :)
