Elora Turns ONE!!

On May 10, our little Elora turned one year old! We can't believe it's been a year since this nugget was brought into our lives.

Birthday Girl!
The week leading up to her birthday we were reminiscing about what life was like this time last year (click here to read about me going on bedrest and here to read about her birth). We are so thankful, thankful, thankful for where God has brought our little family in a year!

I didn't get to see my baby girl the day she was born and didn't get to hold her until she was 14 days old. So on her birthday I was commited to looking at her for as long as I could and holding her as much as possible all day long. My heart was so filled with joy!

On her birthday Peter had to work, so it was mostly a mommy/daughter day! I brought her to the doctor that morning for her 12 month check up. Everything looked good and she weighed in at 14 lbs, 5 oz. and is 27.75 inches long. Her doctor said that we can now increase her solid food intake and start to transition her to whole milk instead of formula - so that is exciting!

After the doctor we headed to the MN Arboretum.  It was a perfect 75 degree, sunny day and we enjoyed walking around, laying in the grass, and of course the beautiful flowers, trees, and landscaping.

Then, we went home and my parents babysat her for a few hours while I did some cleaning for her birthday party (blog post and pictures to come on that!). Once Peter came home we spent time as a family and gave her a new book for her birthday.
What a wonderful little girl we have to celebrate! We are so thankful and proud of her!  Happy first birthday, Elora Nicole - we love you!!
