MorrowLove: Florida

We took our first vacation as a family to Florida in April! It was a trip with many firsts: Elora's first flight, first time swimming in the pool, and first time seeing and splashing in the ocean. As you can imagine - I took about a zillion pictures!

My parents both retired in the last 8 months and decided to spend time down in Florida this spring as a celebration. We joined them for half a week along with my sister and her husband. The other half of the week we spent with the Morrow side, celebrating Peter's oldest brothers recent marriage (blog post to come on the Morrow portion of the trip!).

Florida Part I - Millers:

We had wonderful weather - upper 80's and sunny every day, no rain. We stayed with my parents in the 3-bedroom house they rented in The Villages, FL. The common mode of transportation around The Villages is by golf cart. We had such a fun time riding around on them! There were swimming pools, games, entertainment, golf, tennis, etc all on the property and easy to get to from the house.

We spent each afternoon by the pool - partially because of the heat and also because it was a great activity for Elora. One afternoon we drove 2 hours to the ocean to spend time at the beach. Once again, it was a beautiful Florida day. It was fun to see Elora stick her feet in the sand for the first time!

Aside from it being a great time of relaxation, my sister and her husband announced on the trip that they are expecting a girl! Peter and I already knew the gender, but my parents found out on this trip. It was so fun to see their faces and to celebrate this little granddaughter / neice/ cousin entering our lives. We are so excited for a playmate for Elora!!

We were so thankful for the opportunity to go down and spend time as a family in a beautiful location. We are also very thankful Elora did so well on the flights! She never cried and thankfully napped well on both flights (especially the one coming home).
