So, lately I've been makin' the bacon. Ok - not really bacon, but I love that it rhymes!
I
have been making lots of yummy, healthy, inexpensive food for Elora. And all thanks to my Baby Bullet! I am actually a little embarrased - typically I am not one to buy anything that could possibly be purchased on an infomercial. But, I came across a good deal on the Baby Bullet system at Bed Bath & Beyond and decided it was a good fit for this mama who wanted to make her own baby food. I would highly recommend it!
So far I've made Elora pureed carrots, sweet potato, banana, and avocado. By far bananas win for most loved in Elora's little pallet. Do we sense a girl with a sweet tooth? I'm looking forward to more baby food creations as the weeks go by.
Here are some pictures from my first day of baby food making:
| Step 1 - baking the sweet potatoes (two sweet potatoes provided 12 days worth of food for her! Totally cheap!) |
| Step 2 - add some water and blend away! |
| Step 3 - put the mixture in a freezable container (this one rocks 'cause you can just pop out individual servings for thawing) |
| The set even came with cute smiley-faced single portion containers |
| Some carrots and banana ready for freezing |
| Sittin in her highchair getting ready to eat! |
| Banana mouth! |
