Today was a MUCH different story. Today we drove to a park near our house (it was 60 degrees today...in early March!). We walked around with Elora and it was fantastic. There was nothing to tag along with us like there used to be - no cords, oxygen tanks, or monitors. We just strolled and enjoyed the nice weather. She was active, happy, and played with her toys and feet. We had a great time. We then stopped at the Dairy Queen and our local art gallery on the way home. It was such a fun day.
Everything else is going so well with her. She is eating fantastic these days (no more fighting with her to get her to eat...praise God!). She takes her bottles very well and overall eats her solid food without issues. Her breathing and lungs are doing amazing. You can't see her rib cage contracting any more. She just breathes like normal! She is still a rockstar when it comes to sleep - a solid sleeper for about 11-12 hours.
We used to have a nurse come to the house once a week....then it went down to once a month....now she is no longer coming! That is a huge marker for how well Elora is doing. She still sees a developmental specialist every 2 weeks and a physical therapist once a month. I love when they come because they are so good with her and I learn SO MUCH about how to get Elora up to speed on the things she should be doing at this gestational age (which is 7 months). She has nailed rolling over, so right now we are working on getting her to sit up on her own.
As of early this week, Elora is 12 1/2 pounds. So, she is still a little peanut, but consistently growing at her little preemie pace. She is now wearing 3-6 months size clothes.
Hard to believe it's only 2 months until she is 1 year old!!
Here are a few pictures from her 9th month:
