Sewing for Elora

Since my Grandma is so kindly letting me use one of her sewing machines at my house, I have been trying to take advantage of it.  Being a stay-at-home mom for now has really allowed me to understand how I have craved a creative outlet!  So, I've set up a sewing nook in my basement and have really been enjoying it!  Naturally my ideas for sewing have been items for Elora.

Up until this fall, I had not sewn since making my famous chocolate chip cookie pillow in the 8th grade. Needless to say - I've had to re-learn :)  It's been fun getting back into it and finding some beginner sewing projects. So far I have made Elora three simple pillowcase dresses and a sleep sack/wearable blanket. I would really like to take some sewing classes, but in the mean time I am using a lot of internet tutorials and the instruction manual that came with the sewing machine. Thought I'd share a few of my beginning projects with you.  Hopefully in the future I can share some more advanced work with you!

This dress is reversible - option 1 (tie in front)

Option 2 (tie in back)

Fuzzy warm sleep sack (sorry...not very good picture)

My maiden voyage....didn't turn out too shabby!
