We brought Elora into the doctor today because she isn’t keeping food down very well. We didn’t know if it was a stomach issue, if we were trying to feed her too much, or what. The good news is that nothing seems to be wrong and this is something that a lot of babies (especially at her age) go through. The downside of this issue is that we tend to wash a LOT of clothes (hers and ours) and rags we use to clean up the huge messes that are made when she has her “waterfall’ spit ups! Anyways…after they weighed her and measured her length, we were informed that she has MADE IT ON THE GROWTH CHART! Now – I know many of you parents reading this are used to coming home from the doctor and getting to announce that your child is in the 50th , 75th, or even the 95th percentile for height and/or weight. We will never see these numbers and we are ok with that!! Elora is still not in the charts for weight, but she is in the SEVENTH percentile for length! Wahooo! She now weighs 13 lbs, 11 oz and is 27 inches long.
Please keep praying for her growth in weight. She is growing so slow and not keeping food down doesn’t help a bit!
In other news – Elora is now over 11 months old!! It’s hard to believe she will almost have been in our lives for a year. It’s a bittersweet season for us right now. We are coming up on a very celebratory time (and we have LOTS to celebrate with this little one!) and we are in the midst of remembering a lot of pain (emotionally, physically) that I/we had to go through a year ago. We feel more anxious at this point in our journey than we did a year ago when we were in the midst of it all. I recently was talking to a doctor who told me that what we are experiencing is very similar to what doctors/surgeons go through. They are strong and confident in the thick of things (you kind of have to be!). But, once it’s over, that is when the stress, anxiety, and time comes to deal with what you just went through. We ask for your prayers as we approach the anniversary of some really hard days that we had to go through last year.
We have a family vacation coming up to Florida and we are SO EXCITED and in need of a vacation. It will be an interesting time to travel/fly with Elora for the first time. But, it’s worth it because we get to spend ½ a week with my family and ½ the week with Peter’s family to celebrate his brothers recent marriage. Elora will get to meet three of her cousins for the first time on this trip, too! Pictures to come!!

Great news about making it on the charts Elora! Woo hoo! And Sar-I was just thinking about this time last year and all you went through and what a huge testament Elora's story was/is to so many people of God's healing power and faithfulness. A lot of that is because of how you and Peter handled those hard time, so I will pray He gives you that same perspective one year later. Love you girl!
