Easter 2012

We had a wonderful, busy Easter weekend. It was so much fun!

Peter and I had Good Friday off work and we spent the day as a family. We went downtown Minneapolis to Macy's for their annual flower show. We enjoyed a nice lunch and the buzz of the city. Elora did great :)

Saturday we attended The Lundeen's annual Easter Eggtravaganza party. It was a family event and TONS of kids were there. It was the first time we have ever taken Elora to something like this. Thanks to our medical quarantine, she hadn't been around other kids in her (almost) 11 months of life! I cannot tell you how much she LOVED it!  She laughed and kicked and was in awe of all the kids around her. She seemed in her element!

Easter Sunday was extra special because it was the first time we took her to church (ever!). Our church community is such a big part of our life and to get to finally show her off and be there together was a huge milestone in our life as a family. Again, she loved it. She loved the music, the people, the kids, the attention. She laughed the entire time (which is why I sat outside the sanctuary with her during the sermon. This girl can be LOUD). My parents and Pete's parents were also there and we all went out to brunch afterwards. Again - she did great.

To see our little girl in her frilly Easter dress, enjoying people and her surroundings, was a mark of how far she has come. Last year on Easter weekend was when I noticed swelling and the preeclampsia symptoms beginning. I had no idea what type of year was to come and that I was going to have a baby weeks later. This year we thank and praise the One who saw us through it and died on the cross to heal us all ... especially our little Elora. We are so thankful for His sacrifice. He died a terrible death so that we can have eternal life. What a loving Savior He is.

Hoppy Easter to you all!
